Meet the New Avatar Generator
A community profile needs a picture. A team directory mockup needs a few faces. Our new free avatar generator lets you create an illustrated character for either, without uploading a photo or creating an account. It is available in English and French.
A character that feels like yours
Start with a familiar hairstyle or a favorite pair of glasses, then find an expression and color combination that suit the character. Clothing patterns and backgrounds can make a playful profile picture or a quieter placeholder for an interface. You can try another look without losing the previous one: Undo brings it back.
The preview updates as you edit, and you can download a 256 or 512-pixel PNG when you are happy with it. Everything is drawn in your browser. For a mockup, pair the portraits with sample text using the Lorem Ipsum generator’s HTML and list options.
Keep the character, change the details
Found a look you want to reuse? The small copy button below the image copies a share link. Open it later, or send it to someone else, to recover the same choices and colors. The edit button also accepts a saved avatar code or full link.
That makes it easy to keep a character recognizable while trying a new outfit or background. Keep a PNG too if you need the exact image, since the artwork may be refined over time.
If those portraits are going into a website, our responsive images guide can help you avoid serving oversized files for small profile icons.
